At this point, I\u2019ve begun the process of cutting the ribbons, stems and leaves into the backgrounds (and sand shading\u2026<a href=\"https:\/\/jleko.com\/weblog\/2020\/01\/28\/sand-shading\/\">lots of sand shading<\/a>!). After analyzing <a href=\"https:\/\/jleko.com\/weblog\/2016\/03\/30\/reward-marquetry-prototype\/\">the first prototype<\/a>, and deciding there was plenty of room for improvement, I\u2019ve changed several things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>cut more detail lines into one of the flowers, <\/li><li>am considering the addition of another color to better show highlights and shadows, and<\/li><li>sand shading multiple pieces to suggest dimension.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The image below shows (the back side of) a second prototype. To my eye, it\u2019s better, but I might still tweak it a bit. In any case, I\u2019m happier with it. KS backers please note that the panel you\u2019ll receive will be somewhat close to this. If you are a contributor at this level, please be sure to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/\">update your address, and contact information<\/a> so I can be certain to get it to you. It\u2019d be a shame if after all of this work, and your patience, you don\u2019t receive yours!
