This facet is probably the most challenging aspect of this project to date since it is shaped in three-dimensions. Until now, each of the components has been shaped only in one plane. The top, and main box front, for example, only curve in one plane. They aren&#8217;t <a href=\"http:\/\/furniture.about.com\/od\/furnitureglossary\/g\/bombe.htm\">bomb\u00e9<\/a>! The French cabriole legs, however, are a different story.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jleko.com\/there\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140413-195758.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" alt=\"20140413-195758.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jleko.com\/there\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140413-195758.jpg?w=584\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The process begins with a large blank for each leg. Then, to paraphrase Michelangelo, you simply carve away anything that doesn&#8217;t look like a leg!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jleko.com\/there\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140413-201128.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" alt=\"20140413-201128.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jleko.com\/there\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140413-201128.jpg?w=584\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, there is a considerable amount of waste. Eventually after a series of steps, coarse, medium, and fine, you arrive at the final profile.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jleko.com\/there\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140413-201346.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" alt=\"20140413-201346.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jleko.com\/there\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140413-201346.jpg?w=584\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The challenge in the end is to produce four &#8220;identically&#8221; hand shaped pieces.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jleko.com\/there\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140413-201354.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" alt=\"20140413-201354.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jleko.com\/there\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140413-201354.jpg?w=584\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As the carcass is constructed further, the entire unit will undergo another round of sculpting to bring it to its final form.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Moving on from the main box, it&#8217;s time to create the carcass starting with the legs.
